Zachary Taylor was the12th President of the United States of America. Born on November 24, 1784 in Orange County, Virginia, he was a slaver, Indian killer, and one of the few Whig Party Presidents. He became President on March 4, 1849 but died in office on July 9, 1850. He was succeeded by his Vice President, Millard Fillmore.
