John Tyler was the 10th President of the United States of America. Born March 29, 1790, in Virginia, he became one of the few Whig Party Presidents on April 4, 1841 upon the death of William Henry Harrison. Tyler served until March 4, 1845 and lived until January 18, 1862. During his administration the United States annexed the Republic of Texas.
