William Howard Taft was the 27th President of the United States of America. Born September 15, 1857, he led the U.S. war of occupation of the Philippines from 1900 to 1904. He became Secretary of War under Theodore Roosevelt, then was elected President as a Republican in 1908. He served as President from March 4, 1909 until March 4, 1913.
