Zombies Overrunning Charlotte

I should be making phone calls for Joe Biden, or some potential Democratic Senator, or some relatively sane political candidate somewhere, but I am not. I did manage to write three emails for my homeowners association, and to walk the dog, and make pancakes from scratch for breakfast.

The coronavirus Covid-19 pandemic is not too bad here in Seattle right at the moment, but I am still reluctant to go shopping. In fact, were it not for world news, I might be pretty cheery. The weather is sunny but cool, with highs in the low 70s Fahrenheit. I am on my second cup of Red Rose tea.

California is burning. Sure, it tends to burn every summer into the fall, but this is another really bad year. A few years back the houses in the north end of Santa Rosa burned down. But that was in the fall, when the winds blow fires down towards the valleys and oceans. Anyone who says it is not a result of global warming is in denial. And anyone who says the cause of global warming is not human overpopulation is also in denial. So both major political parties are in denial, with Republicans in double denial.

Hurricane season this year is not over, but there have been a lot of Atlantic Ocean tropical storms already. Relatively mild damage so far. But on the other side of the world, China has seen mega-flooding, so they may feel like they are already in the apocalypse.

Then there s the pandemic, Covid-19. Not killing enough people to alleviate the overpopulation problem, but a nasty problem for humans. Many have been turned into zombies. You can tell the zombies easily: they are not wearing masks. Their brains are gone. The only thing left in their nervous systems is the desire to consume. And procreate. And vote for the Master Zombie, Donald Trump.

Some pundit was on the radio recently, saying we only have ten more years to turn down human CO2 production enough to slow global warming. I feel like I am in 1984, they want us to forget history. In 1990 I heard people saying we only had 10 years to slow down CO2 production. I heard the same in 2000, and in 2010. When the arctic is ice-free in the summer of 2030, if I am still alive, I expect some expert to mouth exactly the same I won't cum in your mouth nonsense.

The Green New Deal is being sold as a jobs policy. It looks to me like it is just another facet of the underlying problem, Industrialism with unlimited human reproduction. Sure, it is better than Republican anarchistic industrialism, and might be a step in the right direction. But without a global population policy, a one-child policy, it is more about putting environmentalists on a morphine drip, not aggressively going after the cancer that is us.

The time to act is now. I know many leading scientists and politicians know it. They also know there are huge sections of society, in American and in the world, that are in near total denial, often aided by ancient superstitions parading as religions. I wish I knew how to get through to these people of crippled mind, but I do not. So my plan for the rest of the day is to walk my dog again, eat a spaghetti dinner with my wife, try to watch the Republican convention so I'll know what the Enemy is up to. Then I will get disgusted and switch to Shameless, where I can watch a family be run like Donald Trump runs the nation. Donald Trump, the Frank Gallagher of American Presidents.
