Borat
Cultural Learnings of America For Make Benefit Glorious Nation of Kazakhstan
(2006)

I was reminded today of this film. I saw it weeks ago. It is hilarious. Yes, the humor is adolescent and gross. But the butt of the joke is less Sasha Ben Cohen’s attempts to flush out racism and sexism in American culture (U.S. American, that is), although he does do that, as it is the American ill-informed views of other countries and peoples that allows the Borat foil to push the general state of American ignorance and naiveté in our faces. Unless you are humor impaired, you will laugh your ass off! Sometimes you won’t be proud of it, but laugh you will.
