A note on religious tolerance

We are very critical of religions; there is much of which to be critical. Please do not mistake criticism for intolerance.

We strongly believe in people's right to choose how to think. If they want to worship, that's fine.

Our strongest criticism of religion is based on the intolerance practiced by the various religious cults. Their belief that anyone who disagrees with them is evil, and willingness to harrass and even murder people based on that attitude, should repulse all decent human beings.

We believe in freedom of speech and of the press, including on religious issues. We believe children should be allowed free-speech periods in school, at which they may pray if they wish.

But no one should ever be forced to pray. Nor should religious cults use the State to enforce their customs on those who do not agree with them.

In particular, we support a woman's right to choose whether or not to bring a baby to term.
