Rutherford Birchard Hayes was the 19th President of the United States of America. Born in Delaware, Ohio on October 4, 1822, he became a Republican Party politician. Elected President in the disputed election of 1876, he served from March 4, 1877 to March 4, 1881. He ided on January 17, 1893.
