New Fiction
"In academia the rule is publish or perish. Outside academia, the rule is publish and perish."
Better than fiction: Memoirs of William P. Meyers (a work in progress) "Navigating the fractal authoritarianism of the Meyers family was no easy task. It meant getting good grades in science class while maintaining a religious outlook that had been forged in the superstitions of the Dark Ages. Meyers boys had to be a tough Marines who never cried, but getting into fight, even in self-defense, was highly punishable. Trying to make boys into the Meyers ideal was like trying to make diamonds out of carbon with insufficient, but excruciating, pressure."
